Pre-Discharge Education Disclosure

Welcome to our online Personal Financial Management Instructional Course (Debtor Education) offered by Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Maryland and Delaware, Inc.

Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Maryland and Delaware, Inc. (CCCS of MD & DE) has been helping people with financial problems since 1966. Our role is not to be judgmental, but to provide assistance. You are about to complete the bankruptcy process and many, if not all of your debts are about to be discharged. At the conclusion of this course, you will be provided with a certificate that you will need in order to discharge your debts.

CCCS of MD and DE is a member of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC). The NFCC has high standards for quality credit counseling and financial education, and this agency complies with those standards. In addition, CCCS of MD and DE is accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA), an independent third-party organization that reviews and monitors entities that provide social services. We are a non-profit agency and we are organized and operate in accordance with Section 501©(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The consumer credit counselor conducting or supervising this session has been trained and certified in accordance with NFCC standards, and while she/he has expertise in helping those with financial problems, she/he cannot provide you with legal advice.

To help cover the cost of providing this course to you, this agency charges a fee of $50.00 due at the time of the session. In the case of joint filers, you will each need to register and take the course separately. However, we offer a discount of $25.00 for the co-filer who registers second for the course. In limited circumstances, you may be eligible to have this fee waived altogether. CCCS of MD and DE receives funding in the form of grants from entities that support financial counseling. The agency does not pay or receive fees or other consideration for the referral of debtor students to the agency.
